Study in France

Your next chapter in France.

Start with real course options and compare campus, language and qualification.

Overview

Why consider France?

France's higher education follows the European licence–master–doctorate structure. Alongside public universities there are grandes écoles and private schools of business, engineering, design and hospitality; the programmes in our listings are mostly at these schools, many of them in Paris.

  1. Public university fees are set nationally

For 2026–27, Campus France lists €2,902 a year for a licence and €3,950 a year for a master's at public institutions for most students from outside the EU.

What it means: If cost matters most, compare public programmes too. Private schools set their own fees — Campus France puts them at roughly €6,000 to €18,000 or more a year.

  2. A clear licence–master structure

A licence (bachelor's) is three years and 180 ECTS credits; a master's adds two years and 120 credits — the structure used across Europe.

What it means: At private schools, check whether a programme carries a state-recognised degree level or is the school's own diploma. It affects how the qualification is recognised later.

  3. Part-time work is allowed, within limits

With a long-stay student visa or student residence card you can work up to 964 hours a year, about 60% of full-time working hours.

What it means: Studies come first and hours are capped, so plan your budget without relying on work income.

What to plan for
